WHY WAS I IN BERLIN?
After the success of my first exhibition, I felt beckoned to take some time to reflect and foster new visual inspiration, as I was considering where to go next a stranger amid a discussion mentioned their return to Berlin.
Knowing parts of the city's culture & history it sounded perfect. As I conveyed my interest to visit and my need for creative grounding, out of spontaneity they invited me to stay for a weekend.
On arriving I visited a variety of street art on many of the walls within the city. The first spot had been so overpainted with little time between new works, that it seemed as though the very walls themselves had become part of the art, and had been falling from the increasing weight.
The next location was occupied by a traveling art collective, whose goal was to unite creatives together between all countries, providing free painting materials for people to create alongside them, showcasing the importance of synergy and the benefits of creating.
I was grateful to the street artist Pierre Pab whose nomadic approach to life gave birth to this idea along with Vera Baunova supporting artists with materials.
This experience was immensely beneficial in providing artistic time apart from the everyday environment that I had gotten used to.
